I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Vehicle crime , which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey.
Communitv Advice: Increase in Vehicle- Related Theft
Dear Residents
I hope you are well
We would like to make vou aware that there has been a recent increase in reports of thefts from motor vehicles in the local area
To help reduce the risk of becoming a victim please take a few simple precautions:
• Always lock your vehicle, even if you are only leaving it for a short period. • Ensure all windows and sunroofs are fully closed • Do not leave valuables, bags, cash, tools, or electronic devices on display inside your vehicle. • If possible, park in a well-lit area or secure location • Remove kevs from the vehicle and never leave the engine running unattended,
More specifically near aquaduct street and norris street .
However this could occur anywhere.
These offences often occur when opportunistic offenders find vehicles that have been left insecure or contain valuables in plain sight Taking a few moments to secure your vehicle can make a significant difference
If you notice any suspicious behaviour or anyone acting unusually around parked vehicles, please report it to Lancashire Constabulary. If a crime is in progress or there is an immediate risk to life, alwavs call 999
